Members of the Orange County Quilters Guild have many opportunities to contribute to the community. Since January, 2002 we have given out 118 quilts. Following is a list of organizations who have received quilts in the past two years:

• Healthbridge Children's Rehab Hospital, Orange
• Ronald McDonald House - Orange County
• Hope's House, Aliso Viejo
• Anaheim Memorial Hospital Neo-Natal Unit, Anaheim
• Olive Crest, Santa Ana
• Hart Community Homes, Anaheim
• CHOC Psychology Healthcare Team Orange
• Project Cuddle, Orange County
• The Sheepfold, Orange County
• The Alex Foundation for Brain Injury, Tustin
• St. Jude Hospital Neo-Natal Unit, Fullerton
• City of Orange Police Department
• Guide Dogs of America

Many individuals and some of our friendship groups give their time and materials to these projects. In October 2003, we devoted an entire evening meeting to making these quilts. More than 100 of our members worked diligently on quilts of all sizes to be donated to others.

We also make a quilt to be auctioned at our quilt show. Proceeds from this project allow us to purchase some of the materials for the projects listed above. Members donate many of the materials and are very generous with their time to make these projects happen.

We award a $100.00 check to the maker of the item chosen by judges as the "Best Quilt" (Twin Size or Larger category) in the Adult Quilt Division at the Orange County Fair.

The Orange County Quilters Guild has contributed money to the Marie Webster Quilt Museum and various local youth groups to promote the art of quilting.
